Friday, February 14, 2020, 8:00p- 11:00p.

Step back in time and have a ball at the historic Haas-Lilienthal House!

San Francisco Heritage presents our annual Valentine-themed ball, introducing the late 19th-century approach to love, courtship, social etiquette, music and entertainment to 21st-century romantics.

Take a break from modern technology and dating customs to immerse yourself in a pre-digital era where formal dances, or "balls", were the centerpiece of the social environment, and every middle and upper class home had a ballroom for that purpose. Learn about love and courtship from the perspective of someone living in the Victorian age.

In addition to learning 19th-century style waltzes, the night will also feature a trivia game, a buffet of savory finger foods, a candy "bar" with sugary treats and a cocktail bar featuring both alcoholic cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages. Dance instructors will be on hand to show you the proper steps.

Attendees must be 18+ to attend, 21+ to be served alcohol.
